University-wide Diploma Policy (Graduate School)

The Graduate School of Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology University of Agriculture and Technology Professor and researches theories and applications in agricultural science, engineering, and their interdisciplinary and integrated fields, and delves into their depths in order to solve global issues and realize a sustainable society. Its basic philosophy is to contribute to the advancement and interdisciplinary development of science and technology, as well as to cultivate talented individuals who possess originality and execution power, as well as advanced specialized skills, solid research abilities, and teaching abilities.
Based on this philosophy, our graduate school awards degrees to those who have acquired the abilities set by each faculty or department and achieved the targeted learning outcomes.

University-wide Curriculum Policy (Graduate School)

In order to enable students to acquire the abilities set out in its diploma policy, the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology University of Agriculture and Technology Graduate School has organized a systematic curriculum in accordance with the characteristics of each academic field of study so that students can acquire basic to specialized knowledge, and has clearly stated the content and implementation methods of the curriculum.
In order to develop engineers and researchers who have acquired the skills stipulated in the diploma policy, learning outcomes are evaluated by exams and reports for lectures, and by reports and oral exams for experiments, practical training, and exercises. Exam grades for course subjects are expressed in five grades: S, A, B, C, and D, with S, A, B, and C being passes and D being a fail. Those who pass are awarded the designated number of credits. In addition, for dissertations, the examination criteria and methods are clearly stated, and the dissertation examination and final examination are conducted rigorously by the Dissertation Examination Committee based on theses.

Graduate School of Engineering aims to nurture students with flexible imagination and solid knowledge, who are capable of original "monozukuri" (manufacturing), as well as engineers and researchers with high ethical standards and an outstanding ability to discern the essence of things.
Graduate School of Agriculture aims to provide in-depth academic knowledge from a broad perspective and to develop talented individuals who have the research capabilities in their major fields, as well as the outstanding abilities to take on jobs that require a high level of expertise, in order to contribute to solving various issues in the fields of agriculture, life science, environmental science, and veterinary science and to creating a sustainable society.
Graduate School of Bio-Applications and Systems Engineering is founded on the principle of "learning from living organisms to create new systems." Its goal is to foster practical human resources by promoting the development of new science and technology through collaboration between agriculture and industry in a new interdisciplinary field that combines life science with agriculture and engineering.
United Graduate School of Agricultural Science aims to develop into a core doctoral program in Japan and Asia, and aims to pursue creative and highly functional education that enables students to acquire advanced specialized knowledge, understanding, insight, and practical skills in biological production science, applied life science, environmental resource coexistence science, agricultural environmental engineering, and agricultural and forestry coexistence social science from a broad perspective, with the aim of nurturing highly Specialist and researchers with comprehensive judgment and who can contribute to the international community.
