"TUAT after the rain" (Haruki Kamiya, 2nd year master's student Department of Mechanical Systems Engineering at the Graduate School of Graduate School of Engineering)

Artwork Description

When I was returning from the East Gate in the evening after the rain had stopped, I noticed the light reflecting off the wet cobblestones and thought it was so beautiful that I took a picture.

Location: Koganei Campus East Gate

Comment

This is a precious photograph that was left with a deep impression on me after a sudden glimpse on campus in the evening. The windows in the building are all brightly lit, conveying the enthusiasm of the students as they work towards their research and graduation. The tops of the zelkova trees, the symbol of the university, spread wide into the sky after the rain, and the tree-lined path below is lit by solar-powered LEDs, as if illuminating the path to the future along with the development of science and technology. It also brings back memories of the university's mulberry fields that once spread around this area, making this a precious work that evokes the history of Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology and its powerful steps towards the future.

Comment

I felt the love for TUAT in the title "Hometown of the Heart" (Furusato, "Hometown of the Heart"), which shows many classmates and teachers. I was drawn to the fact that the bonds between students and memories with teachers remain the same, just as they have in the past. I also chose this photo because I wanted current TUAT to know that TUAT has a long history of practical training that has continued since before cameras were in circulation.
