Dr. Junpei Kimura, the Professor Emeritus of Seoul National University, has received the 2024 Foreign Minister's Commendation.

Dr. Kimura completed his master's degree in 1983 at our laboratory.
After completing his master's program, he studied abroad at the University of Washington in the U.S.
After returning to Japan in 1985, he worked as an assistant professor at Nihon University before becoming the first Japanese professor at Seoul National University in 2007.
He received the 2024 Foreign Minister's Commendation for his enthusiastic efforts to promote academic exchange between Japan and Korea in research and student education in Japanese universities and academic societies, particularly in wildlife research.
