About GIR
In 2014, TUAT was selected by the Japanese government as one of the 12 national universities rapidly promoting global research and we have been striving to enhance our function toward globalization of the cutting-edge research. In this context we established the Global Innovation Research Organization to strengthen our role in promoting global research.? In April 2016, it was reorganized as the Institute of Global Innovation Research (GIR).
Within the GIR, the emphasis is placed on research in three key areas of “food”, “energy”, and “life science”, under the theme “to solve globally challenging issues of food and energy”.? GIR’s goals are to boost the number of international joint research efforts and internationally co-authored papers, for the theme with a high social demand.
